A blast from the past. This is me learning how to do an invert on our backyard ramp. We dropped in 8ft+ off the top and skated our hearts out. It was here that I learned all my tricks. My last were a 360 air and a 360, 3 wheels out. About the time Tony Hawks was doing a 540. I wish we would have video taped those days. I had a 9" Gordo board, independent trucks and first set of Sims snakes.
Catching air off the top of the wave. This park was in Slidell, LA. It was called the "Pink Panther". The approach ramp is to the right of the photo, (approx 70ft long and 15 to 20 ft high) After pumping like mad down the approach ramp, you then hit the 15ft, "wave wall". It was not a very smooth transition. You can see in the next shot how the vert just kind of happens after an 80 or so angle. A one shot thrill, and then it was flying into the halfpipe stretch of about 60ft. You can see it on the left. Then it was back up to the top of the hill to do it all again. Endless energy and 24+ years ago. :-) Here I have a Lonnie Toft 11" wide flat nosed, independent trucks and Sims snakes first conicals.
